THE MISSION
The inspiration for MishiPay came to Mustafa Khanwala, its CEO and Founder, during a frustrating 20-minute wait in line at Lidl just to buy a single can of soda. This experience led him to recognize the need for a more efficient solution for both retailers and customers, igniting the spark that would launch MishiPay's journey.
MishiPay, a member of Scale Up's 6th Batch, aims to eliminate the inefficiency of in-store queuing which costs the global retail sector over $284 billion annually. With MishiPay, shoppers can easily scan and pay for their items using their smartphones, bypassing the checkout line entirely. Users can simply pick up an item, scan its barcode with the app, make the payment, and leave with their purchase.
In 2024, MishiPay launched its mobile point-of-sale system, deploying it in Hudson News, Event Network, and various fashion and grocery retailers across the Middle East. The company has also partnered with brands like Flying Tiger and MUJI and introduced RFID Scan & Go technology along with RFID kiosks in collaboration with Carters and the Toronto Raptors Stadium.
Recently, MishiPay successfully raised funds through the crowdfunding platform Seedrs. Remarkably, within just one hour of opening the investment round, the company reached its €3 million target with contributions from 18 backers.
