THE MISSION
Instacar was founded by seasoned entrepreneur Antonis Samothrakis and Mykonos car rental expert Antonis Zois, marking the beginning of a transformative approach to mobility. Rather than merely identifying a gap in the market, they sought to redefine the car leasing experience. What began as a solution to the outdated and cumbersome process of traditional leasing quickly evolved into a streamlined, digital platform. Instacar simplified the process, transforming what was once a bureaucratic task into an intuitive, mobile-friendly experience.
As a Scale Up Cohort 3 member, Instacar’s vision extends beyond car leasing. The company is positioning itself as a comprehensive mobility platform. Its acquisition of electric bike rental service Kineo highlights its ambition to diversify and expand. Instacar is developing a one-stop app for everything car-related, from renting to servicing to parking, further solidifying Greece's growing influence in the mobility sector. Alongside other innovators like Flexcar and Spotawheel, Instacar is helping lead the country into a new era of transportation.
In 2023, Instacar raised €55 million in a Series A funding round led by Velocity Partners, Autohellas/Vasilakis Group, and the Olympia Group, with Elikonos 2 S.C.A. SICAR joined as a new investor.
