Kimon Angelides, founder & CEO of Vivante Health, joins the Endeavor network and becomes the 31st entrepreneur of the organization in Greece. The company was selected during the 1st Virtual International Selection Panel (ISP), the final stage of the multi-step selection process for choosing the new Endeavor Entrepreneurs, held online, on March 23rd – 25th. To cope with the current situation worldwide, Endeavor decided to change its selection process and hold its first virtual International Selection Panel to select a new wave of high-impact entrepreneurs to join its global network.
Kimon Angelides, professor of Biology and serial entrepreneur, has founded four companies. Before Vivante Health, he founded EosHealth, which became Livongo, a digital health company that launched a personalized diabetes management platform offering real-time connection to a diabetes care team. Last July, the company entered the Nasdaq stock market, with its value now reaching $4B.
Vivante Health is an innovative digital healthcare company reinventing the way chronic conditions are managed, gut first. Our all-in-one digestive health program, GIThrive, empowers people—through brilliant technology, advanced science, and on-demand human support—to improve digestive health, while lowering their cost of care.
The company has 61 employers, half of whom are located in Greece, and has raised $18M. They have on boarded 16 clients to date, with 7 of them being large employers (>30K employees) and have concluded a strategic collaboration with Johnson & Johnson that is focusing on using analytic methods to identify digital and biomarkers for people who are at risk and to intervene to either stop or alter the trajectory of their disease.
Maritina Grelloni, Entrepreneur Selection & Growth Manager at Endeavor, stated: “Kimon is one of the key healthcare players globally and we are confident that he will be an inspiration and role model for other Greek entrepreneurs of the industry. His 4th consecutive healthcare company is trying to solve a serious problem that people with chronic intestinal problems face. Based on his business experience and his technical know-how, he is ready to make Vivante Health the next business success that will spring from Greece – something that is perfectly aligned with Endeavor’s goal and we are very happy that Vivante Health joined our network.”
Angelides started Vivante in Greece during the country’s financial crisis. “I just knew, given the incredible talent in Greece, that we Greeks could dig down deep, come out of the crisis, and create a world-class company that we would all be proud of,” said Angelides. “The talent, passion, and innovation that the Greek team has shown is not only moving, but also a testament to what can be done when given the chance.” He added, “Endeavor Greece embodies this spirit, and I am very honored to be part of their network. I, like my Endeavor colleagues, will work tirelessly to ensure that the brightest talent remains or returns to Greece, and will do whatever it takes to support Endeavor and this talented workforce.”
