Vasilis Stavrou is the CEO of Valvis Holding where he is steering the company’s growth in the fast-moving consumer goods sector and guiding its shift from local dominance to international expansion. He brings 28 years of experience in the retail industry and in managerial positions to his role. He was also elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at La Lorraine Bakery Group and is currently the President of Hellenic Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce. 

Vasilis’s journey is marked by his ability to scale businesses and build effective teams. At Mega Image in Romania, he was the Chief Operating Officer, optimizing operations and creating significant growth. He also served as the CEO at AB Vassilopoulos S.A. after holding various managerial roles. Additionally, he was the Chief Business Development Officer for Southeastern Europe and Indonesia at Delhaize group where he expanded the company’s footprint in diverse markets. His expertise spans general management, human resources, organizational development, mergers and acquisitions, sustainability, and food safety. Known for his business insight, Vasilis has led teams of up to 15,000 people, fostering cross-functional collaboration and executing corporate initiatives. 

Vasilis holds a Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MBA from the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE), and he participated in the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.
