Panagiotis Georgalas has been Managing Director at private equity firm VNK Capital since April 2016. He has 20 years of experience in Greece and abroad as Chief Financial Officer specializing in investments through mergers and acquisitions, in the financial, fiscal and operational optimization of companies as well as in the application of IFRS on groups of companies. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of the Greek drug manufacturer PHARMATHEN from 2009 to April 2016. At that time, he played an active role in the decision of the European Investment Bank to fund PHARMATHEN SA (the first Greek company to receive a fund from the EIB), as well as in the investment of BC PARTNERS to PHARMATHEN SA. Prior to PHARMATHEN SA, he was CFO and COO at the OLYMPIA DEVELOPMENT Group (2006-2009). He was Executive member of the Board of Directors and responsible for the financial and administrative operations of the Group’s investments which were worth more than 1 billion euros. In 2000-2006 he served as Chief Financial and Administrative Director of the subsidiaries of the Germanos Group in Greece and abroad, executing investments worth more than 200 million Euros and implementing the SAP information system in all the companies of the group. PANAGIOTIS GEORGALAS started his career in 1994 as Chief Financial Officer of the subsidiaries of the INTRACOM Club abroad. He holds an MBA from HENLEY BUSINESS SCHOOL and he graduated from the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Piraeus.
