Kathy Styponias is currently a Board Member for the Wild Bird Fund, a wildlife rehabilitation center providing medical care and rehabilitation to injured and orphaned wildlife in New York City.
Until recently, she was the Executive Vice President of Technology Strategy & Business Operations at WarnerMedia, where she drove the strategic and operational framework for an 8,000+ member division supporting brands like CNN, HBO, TBS, and major sports franchises including the National Basketball Association (NBA). Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, Kathy oversaw key functions such as sourcing, procurement, asset management, and payment operations, essential for adapting to the dynamic media landscape.
Kathy goes into her roles armed with a BA from Queens College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Prior to joining WarnerMedia via HBO in 2014, Kathy was a General Manager at Microsoft, where she led the Media and Entertainment Group. During her tenure, she established strong global partnerships with Hollywood studios, TV broadcasters, and the music industry, contributing to groundbreaking products and apps. Before Microsoft, Kathy excelled as Senior Vice President and senior cable, entertainment, and satellite equity analyst at Prudential Equity Group, earning recognition for her expertise in media industry trends. Her career began with roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
