George Karabelas is a Principal at VentureFriends, a venture capital firm that supports founders in building disruptive startups. Over his career, George has progressed from Associate to Senior Associate and now Principal, focusing on investment opportunities in Fintech, B2B SaaS, and Marketplaces. He has been instrumental in early-stage investments in companies such as Huspy, Jeeves, Belvo, and Embat, collaborating with top-tier funds like Sequoia, FoundersFund, a16z, Balderton, and Creandum.

Before joining VentureFriends, George co-founded Agrendo, a B2B online marketplace aiming to transform the food supply chain, and Suitaby, a search engine designed to help people find clothes that fit perfectly. He also worked as a Project Portfolio Manager at the European Development Programs Division, managing €13M budget projects, and co-founded ThinkBiz, Greece's first student entrepreneurship club.

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, George has served as a Data Analyst Advisor for the Public Security Division of the Hellenic Police Headquarters, where he developed systems to track and prevent vehicle theft. As a Financial Advisor in the Hellenic Police Headquarters, he optimized pension systems and saved €4 million by streamlining travel expenses.

George earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business.
