Damianos Charalampidis is currently a member of the BOD at Apifon, an Independent Board Member at Pankreta Bank, and a Chairman of the Board of Directors at Grapevine Digital SA. He was born in Athens in 1964. He holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the John Moores University in Liverpool as well as an MSc in Digital Electronics from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He worked as Executive General Manager in Alpha Bank from November 2016 to April 2021. He has 20 years of experience in the field of Telecommunications, and has served as General Manager at all three mobile network operators in Greece. More specifically, he worked at Cosmote as a Product and Services Manager from 1998 to 2005, and then he assumed the position of the General Manager of the sector. He joined Wind Hellas in 2005, where he worked as Chief Commercial Officer and then as Chief Operating Officer until 2009. From 2009 to 2012 he served as Chief Operating Officer in Vodafone Greece. In 2012 he was assigned the position of Chief Operating Officer of the National Bank and was a Member of its Executive Committee. Throughout his career he has served as a Member of the Board of Directors in various companies, such as OTENET (ISP Provider), TELLAS S.A. (Fixed Line Operator), ZELITRON (IoT Internet of Things), Ethnodata (IT service provider), CosmoONE (B2B e-Auction service provider). Last but not least, he is a Member of IET UK (Institute of Electrical and Technical Engineers) and has served as the Chairman of its Greek section for quite a few years.
