Chris Evdaimon is currently working in the Private Companies team at Baillie Gifford, an investment management firm that has $300 billion in assets under management.

Before Baillie Gifford, Chris was a Partner at Sinovation Ventures, working first in Beijing and later in Silicon Valley. In China, he contributed to early rounds for companies like Zhihu and Wandoujia (acquired by Alibaba). Moving to Silicon Valley, he established Sinovation’s U.S. operations, focusing on companies in industrial automation and robotics, working closely with startups such as Fictiv and Compology.

Chris’s expertise is grounded in strong academics, having earned his MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London as well as an MBA from Insead. This provided the framework for his global experience and a focus on innovation. Earlier in his career, Chris served as CEO of ICDL Asia, successfully expanding its operations across 25 Asian countries. His entrepreneurial background also includes co-founding and managing ECDL Hellas in Athens.
