Apostolos Apostolakis is a Founding Partner at VentureFriends, a venture capital firm focused on supporting founders in building disruptive, sustainable businesses. VentureFriends has raised €170 million across three funds, investing in over 40 startups including Blueground, Instashop (exited), Belvo, Flexcar, Huspy, Spotawheel, and WelcomePickups.
Previously, Apostolos co-founded several successful Greek tech startups, including e-shop.gr, an online shop that sells computers, electronics, games, and other products, e-food.gr, a Greek food delivery platform that was acquired by Delivery Hero, and Doctoranytime, a health tech company. He was also an early investor in Beat, the ride-hailing app acquired by Freenow. Earlier in his career, he began as a summer associate for Merrill Lynch and a consultant for Boston Consulting Group where he worked in the financial services and Mergers and Aquisitions department.
Apostolos's academic background laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He also serves on the boards of multiple companies, including Blueground, Carmoola, Harbor Lab, Agro.Club, Welcome Pickups, and YourHero, leveraging his extensive experience to guide business growth. Apostolos has also backed international startups such as Jeeves, Spotahome, Booksy, and Packhelp.
