Aimilios Chalamandaris is the Head of Text-to-Speech (TTS) Technology and Research and Development (R&D) at Samsung, where he leads the Innoetics Lab at Samsung Electronics in Greece. Co-founder and former CEO of Innoetics, Aimilios developed one of the world’s leading TTS technologies, contributing to the company's acquisition by Samsung Electronics in 2017. 

Amilios brings a rich academic background to his roles. He earned his PhD and BA in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Digital Signal Processing from Imperial College London. 

His impact in the field at Samsung Electronics Greece was recognized in 2022 when he was awarded the prestigious R&D Manager of the Year. Beyond his work at Samsung, Aimilios served as a member of the National Council for Research and Innovation, Greece’s top advisory body for shaping national policy on research, technology, and innovation. He was also a Research Fellow, Principal Engineer, and Project Manager at Athena Research and Innovation Center. In this position, he was the founding member of the TTS Research team and co-created advanced TTS technology as well as over 12 EU and national R&D projects.
