Aimilios Chalamandaris is the Head of Text-to-Speech (TTS) Technology and Research and Development (R&D) at Samsung, where he leads the Innoetics Lab at Samsung Electronics in Greece. Co-founder and former CEO of Innoetics, Aimilios developed one of the world’s leading TTS technologies, contributing to the company's acquisition by Samsung Electronics in 2017. 

His impact in the field at Samsung Electronics Greece was recognized in 2022 when he was awarded the prestigious R&D Manager of the Year. Beyond his work at Samsung, Aimilios served as a member of the National Council for Research and Innovation, Greece’s top advisory body for shaping national policy on research, technology, and innovation. He was also a Research Fellow, Principal Engineer, and Project Manager at Athena Research and Innovation Center. In this position, he was the founding member of the TTS Research team and co-created advanced TTS technology as well as over 12 EU and national R&D projects. 

Prior to these roles, Aimilios earned his PhD and BA in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Digital Signal Processing from Imperial College London.
