Driving Innovation Across Industries

From microchips to farm fields, Sotiris Bantas is a tech pioneer whose journey spans both high-tech innovation and sustainable agriculture. With a PhD in Microelectronics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Sotiris has spent over 20 years pushing the boundaries of microelectronics and wireless technology. His deep understanding of electrical engineering has proven to be a catalyst for innovation across seemingly unrelated fields.

As the co-founder of Centaur Analytics, Sotiris is transforming the global food supply chain through smart agriculture. His passion for technology and sustainability converged at Centaur Analytics, where he’s using IoT and machine learning to give farmers and suppliers real-time data that helps reduce waste and optimize storage. Whether it’s monitoring grain moisture levels or predicting crop conditions, Centaur Analytics’s technology ensures food quality and abundance in a world increasingly concerned with food security.

Before diving into the agriculture tech revolution, Sotiris co-founded Helic in 2000, where he designed wireless silicon Integrated Curcuits (ICs) that fueled the rise of smartphones, especially in Japan. His leadership helped establish Helic as a pioneer in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) space, and his innovations earned him four US patents, including breakthroughs in machine learning for chip design.

Now, instead of shaping wireless networks, Sotiris is reshaping the future of farming—proving that technology can thrive on both silicon and soil.
