Helping Others Become a New Man, with Numan.
Sokratis Papafloratos is the Founder and CEO of Numan, a company providing medicine for men and knowledge for everyone. Numan, a Scale Up Cohort 1 alumnus, is building a platform that gives men direct access to medical professionals, pharmaceutical products and the knowledge so they can make informed decisions about their health.
Sokratis studied electronic engineering from the University of York and a master’s in information processing from King’s College London, Sokratis began his career at Vodafone Group, honing his skills in strategy and business integration. His entrepreneurial journey took off when he became the Head of UK Operations at Qwikker, a Sequoia-backed startup. In 2006, he co-founded TrustedPlaces, a local reviews platform that he led to profitability before its acquisition by Yell Group. At Yell, Sokratis served as Head of Social Products, steering post-acquisition strategy and product innovation.
In 2013, he launched Togethera, a private sharing app for families, and later Upshot, a live-streaming platform. While both ventures attracted significant attention, they ultimately laid the groundwork for his most ambitious project yet—Numan. Founded in 2018, Numan is on a mission to transform men’s health, providing direct access to medical professionals, treatments, and health insights. Under Sokratis's leadership, Numan has empowered over 400,000 individuals to take control of their well-being.
Sokratis is also a seasoned angel investor, backing innovative companies like Calm, the world's first mental health unicorn. His career is marked by a commitment to innovation, a focus on destigmatizing health issues, and a vision to use technology for social good.
