On A Quest Towards Performance Perfection

Sofia Pomakidou is a researcher in Biomechanics Science and the Founder and CEO of EVO Human Performance, an AI-powered bioengineering company creating solutions for sports performance and injury prevention and member of the Scale Up Cohort 8. EVO’s flagship software, artemYs, which leverages computational fluid mechanics, finite element analysis, and deep learning to deliver precise insights into the myoskeletal system.

Sofia earned a PhD in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, where her research focused on biomechanical modeling, including experiment protocols for human aortas and 3D simulation using ANSYS with Fortran and Python. She also holds an MSc in Engineering and a BASc in Mechanical Engineering, both from NTUA, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to lead in the bioengineering field.

With over five years of research experience, Sofia has worked as a data analyst in structural companies, contributed to European projects as a simulator-modeler, and taught courses in PDEs, mathematical analysis, and mechanics at both university and private institutions. Her work with EVO Human Performance has positioned her at the forefront of sports technology, helping elite athletes and clubs achieve peak performance and prevent injuries through individualized bioengineering solutions.
