Omar Qaise is the Founder and CEO of OQ Technology, a member of the Scale Up 6th Cohort and a global leader in 5G NB-IoT and the NewSpace industry. With expertise in satellite and telecommunications, Omar has positioned OQ Technology at the forefront of satellite IoT innovation. Under his leadership, the company has successfully launched five Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, with plans to deploy five more by the end of 2023, expanding satellite connectivity and accelerating the growth of IoT technologies worldwide.

Omar’s strong academic background laid the foundation for his successful career in space technology and telecommunications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nahrain University, a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Bremen, and an MBA in Strategy from the University of Strathclyde. Omar also studied German Language and Culture at the University of Duisburg-Essen, a combination of education that has supported his international career and contributions to the industry. His career experience includes roles at the European Space Agency, OHB Systems, the German Aerospace Centre, EUMETSAT, and SES Satellites, where he contributed to various missions spanning satellite communication, Earth observation, and deep space exploration.
