Dimitrios Kottas, Founder and CEO of Delian Alliance Industries, has built a career on a vision: creating autonomous systems that respond to threats at machine speed. Delian Alliance Industries, a member of the Scale Up 7th Batch, is committed to safeguarding the security and prosperity of 1 billion people in European democracies and allied nations.  

His journey into robotics and computer vision began with a curiosity about how machines “see” and interpret the world, a fascination that has driven his work ever since. Dimitrios's career took a significant leap while working at Apple’s Special Projects Group, where he led teams in developing technologies that enhanced machine perception. This experience inspired him to envision innovative solutions for global security challenges through AI and robotics, ultimately leading to the creation of Delian Alliance Industries.

With over a decade of experience, Dimitrios has co-authored numerous papers and patents. He is committed to designing intelligent systems that do more than function—they perceive, think, and interact with the world like we do, shaping the future of machine intelligence.

At the University of Minnesota's MARS Laboratory, he spearheaded research in visual-inertial odometry and sensor calibration, laying the groundwork for groundbreaking advancements in machine perception. His dedication to the field was recognized with the prestigious Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, further fueling his passion for state estimation and machine learning algorithms.
