Antonios Oikonomou is the CEO and co-founder of Qurv Technologies, a pioneering company specializing in advanced imaging solutions. Established in 2020, Qurv is a spin-off from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona, developed under the umbrella of the Graphene Flagship project, one of Europe's largest research initiatives in graphene technology.

Oikonomou's leadership at Qurv focuses on leveraging graphene and quantum dot technologies to create wide-spectrum image sensors that significantly enhance the capabilities of computer vision systems. These sensors are designed to detect a broad range of wavelengths from ultraviolet to infrared, offering applications in various fields such as autonomous vehicles, security, and industrial robotics. By integrating these technologies, Qurv aims to democratize access to advanced imaging by reducing costs and enhancing functionality compared to traditional systems.

Before his role at Qurv, Oikonomou had experience in the technology and innovation sectors, co-founding Eksagon Group Ltd, where he focused on technology and product development. His work continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in sensor technology and computer vision.
