To change the way people use, interact with, and benefit from light by democratizing access to metamaterials.
MTI, represented by the founder and CEO George Palikaras, is pioneering a new class of smart materials—that can block, absorb, and amplify light waves at the nanoscale. Within the nascent metamaterials market, MTI is printing nano-structures on flexible film to enable high performance next generation optical devices, including laser protection, energy-efficient light sources, affordable solar panels, and non-invasive medical diagnostics.
George Palikaras completed his PhD at Loughborough University in the science of metamaterials and his post-doc at Queen Mary University of London, where he studied wearable sensors. In 2010, he joined forces with, Themos Kallos and co-founded MTI in order to develop and market metamaterials for various applications, such as medical diagnostics and aviation.
